One of Vancouver’s gems, the public market at Granville Island is visited daily by thousands of tourists and locals alike. Some come for fresh produce and seafood, while some come simply to stroll the walkways and streets. No need to leave hungry, though – plenty of restaurants, pubs and eateries abound on this inner city attraction in Vancouver, BC.
Just outside the Blue Parrot, Celine’s Fish & Chips and the Market Grill, Granville Island management have installed a number of Sanderson Concrete’s Belcarra and Columbia precast concrete picnic tables.
Come grab a seat and some fish ‘n chips or a Starbucks and some fresh pastry from the market and catch a little sun and some people watching!
Before these precast concrete picnic tables were installed, often the only choice was to sit inside or grab a couple of plastic chairs. Restaurant owners and visitors agree – Sanderson Concrete’s precast concrete picnic tables have made a fabulous addition to an already stellar location.
The Belcarra precast concrete deli-style picnic tables installed at Granville Island Public Market were customized with cedar seats that were finished with Sikkens Cetol to both enhance and protect the cedar. The table tops are polished to a terrazzo style finish, exposing the colours of the Chilliwack aggregate.
