Ronald McDonald House Fireplace surrounds - Sanderson Concrete

We have been privileged to work on some amazing projects over the years. From Hospitals to cutting-edge university buildings, architectural offices and landmarks like Robson Square and the Woodwards Building. But when you see your work in a place like Ronald McDonald House, it is very humbling. You realize that work is nothing without family. And for some families, their lives are forever affected by their children’s health.

From the Ronald McDonald House website (donations page here):

Our new House, which opened on July 7, 2014, will serve 2,500 families each year in spacious suites with private washrooms. With a larger House comes expanded services for children and families including a fitness room, arts, and crafts studio, magic room, LEGO lounge, and several comfortable indoor and outdoor lounges which encourage guests to come together. Built to LEED Gold Standard, our new House reduces our organization’s carbon footprint and reflects the natural beauty of the BC and Yukon communities that our families come from.”

We built the fireplace surrounds in the great hall. A unique double-sided fireplace cast in four sections per side. The outside fireplace allows for a private and comfortable evening in front of a beautiful large fireplace. The charcoal pigmented precast panels – a lintel, mantle and two sides – was installed by Dominion Masonry.
